hey there! semester 2 is finishing with the intermin show being set up and what not and so i thought to have a bit of reflection regarding the last few months of work
with semester 2, my film has evolved from what felt like concepts and ideas to something resembling a piece of work. there are still tons of work with one semester left. i've all scenes laid out but some scenes are more ahead in the animation stage than others. recording dialogue and making some branding for it has helped elevate the project feel real aswell. marketing and branding is something i am more that knowledgable of but never really dabbled into and that will be a big part of next semester alongside progressing and finishing production. i've used the opportunity to work on my personal branding and have revived my personal site and socials alongside production.
besides the production of the film, i participated in a study trip to ediburgh which you can read about here and participated in specialized crits for illustration. the crits overall and regular talks with tutor have improving my confidence in showing off work and talking about it to people which i really struggled with. getting to explain my work amongst over creatives aswell has been invigorating especially with the enthusiatic responses. the seminars and g@g program have been fascinating aswell expanding my knowledge within art.
with this post i want to formally announce my short film ob-SOUL-1337 (2023). the film takes a absurd satirical look at a relationship with technology and features a mix of 2D/3D animation. the film premiering for this september at the Gray's Master Show. online distribution will follow via YouTube after the show. for the intermin show, the first two minutes of the short (in rough fashion) will be on display alongside this poster below and a brief behind-the-scenes poster. the intermin show is in the gray's foyer for the next 2 weeks on the ground/first floors with my display on the latter. there is a lot of work from my fellow classmates on display (who are 10x the talent that i am).
